I may not deserve to live, but I will protect those in my reach with my reverse blade!

So I decided I would just post me stuff in one thread. I'm trying to do more sigs that usual working with multiple renders, so feel free to comment. I'm trying to make at least one satisfactory one a day..

Today's Sig:

As a note the charmander's body is supposed to be the way it is. I intended for Wartortle to have the whole color of his body shown but for char to just have the basic outline. Once I try and throw multiple renders in I'll have to work with these kind of things :P

Simple edits done to it:

Blah, after doing these I just realize I have a long way to go.

Edit: Every thing I make is under the intention of having multiple renders or eventually having them. So, not worried about tips for renders. Worried about color scheme, smudging, opacity, lighting, etc.

I'm curious. What was your concept for this signature?

Like Ana said in one of her posts to you yesterday, I think you should try to follow some tutorials to learn the basics.
I think you have some artistic talent because you seem to know how to make a sig look visually appealing, but you need direction.

Here are a few things that you should look for:
- Focal point -- the 2 sigs I've seen from you so far had none and it's an important aspect of a sig, especially in the beginning.
- Lighting -- you'll find out that if you give a light source to your sig and make it respect the incidence in which the light hits your render the whole sig will look about 10 tens more professional and put together.
- Blending -- There are a lot of cool effects that you can learn to make the render blend with the background without having it look like PART of the background. You still want the render to stand out. One cool effect is making the render look like it is coming out of the background. Like it's about to jump out of the sig. Tutorials will definitely help you with that.
- Font -- If you're going to add text to your sig try to place it to the right or left of your render or in a place where it doesn't distract people from the focal point (unless text is your focal point). In that first sig you posted you have one pokemon on the left, one on the right, and the font on the top right. It makes the eye dance in a bad way and not know where to look at first.

Those are the most important notions overall.

Thanks for the tip. As I said with both though main thing trying to do is use multi renders. Not really any other purpose.

What Strawberry said is spot on. You have a good sense of making a signature appealing. It's the basics that are holding your signatures back from becoming great.

Examples (of two renders or more with right placement:)

I realize I am not the best nor claim to be, but I do have a sense of how ot make two renders look like they are a part of the signature.

This one I made.

No one is saying you can't use multi renders. However, you have to have them in a way that they fit well in the scene together.

Yeah, I'm reading a tutorial guide right now. With one all you have to do is scrap color of main render for background and effect but it's interesting the different approaches people use with multi ones. Thanks for tips and examples.

Blue Eyes White dragon

-the smudging isn't bad but its not very subtle either, you can sort of tell where you start & stop.
-the render is really too bright, Im guessing its because you mightve put up a light layer on the entirety of the sig
-you wanna make your render the focal point & you can have that with light BUT it shouldn't be so bright
-Usually I would say bring text close to the render but with this I like the text where it is but you can move the blue eyes more to the center or center-right of the sig.

Work on focal point & capturing what you are trying to put in your image. Just puttin text, a picture & some colors isn't all their is to it. You should have an idea at some point as you are doing the gfx where your focal point will be, meaning what is it that you are trying to present to everyone. Work on focal point & the rest will get easier to evaluate.

Thanks for the tips .

As for the focal point, I might not of made this clear but EVERY image I'm making is being made in a process to contain multiple renders. Therefor, focal points aren't supposed to be clear. As for the brightness, once I add my Red Eyes Black Dragon to the opposite end I'm gong to change the contrast so that their 2 attacks that will be added will be the focal.

I will update OP because this is like the millionth time I've had to explain this lol.

Appreciate the criticism. I'll work on the smudging. Text will eventually be smaller and red eyes will be on opposite side so both images will have text on them.

Alright, sorry I didn't know but even if you have 2 separate renders like that it will just be like your first pair of signatures earlier as far as I can imagine then being. I look forward to the final sig but don't be surprised if you get the same comments :p

Well, the plan is to create 2 more layers. The furthest back being red eyes, the top being blue eyes and the middle being the attacks. I'm hoping that when I add the different dimensions it has an actual flow and crispness (unlike the first ones).

Purpose of this was to use a difficult render, and later edit it to add a few more renders. Not happy with this at all.

I can say the placement of the render is pretty good. I like what you did with the text on the left side. I must say it is a cool style. It's just the background that makes it look low quality. It's not as bad as you think it is. It's a step forward in your quest to being great.

Thank you Pooke :)

Here is one I made out of a joke on another forum. I asked for simple suggestions and it got out of hand in a funny way so I incorporated everyone's opinion in it lol:

No purpose in this, just having a little fun (which is allowed sometimes :D )
